it gives me immense joy to discover the blog of a person with a great sense of humour. not the sarcastic kind, not the arrogant kind, and definitely not the dirty kind ... just the ability to reflect on one's own life, or life in general, and laugh at the absurdities that plague mankind.
what really engages me is the additional discovery that such bloggers are not "trained" writers or published humourists; they could be your next-door neighbour...literally! or, they live in california. or, they are amazing cellists who make debuts at NYC's Carnegie Hall.
i believe that all subjective writing (i.e. a piece that expresses your own perspective, unlike a lab write-up or data-entry report) reveals a part of who you are, whether or not you intend it to. and so, it's refreshing to come across writers who reveal themselves to be true lovers of Life -- it can be seen through the way they relate the most mundane matters.
alas, i am not so gifted...i think my writing is wobbly --sometimes solemn, sometimes trivial -- reflecting the fragmented contents of my not-so-brilliant mind at the point of composition.
thank God there are those who are blessed otherwise, and decide use the internet as a tool for spreading His overflowing goodness through the language of laughter! the best i can do is share some of the links to a few personal favourite cheek-aching entries with you:
dre - (you should've known this was coming. they're all amusing, but i especially adore Well-behaved Children)
mileschen - (totally random discovery today-he was featured on the xanga homepage cuz his post generated so many comments [around 650??]. interestingly enough, it totally ties in with our recent cell group discussions...!)
adrianfungonthe.net - (check out the first post on this page. i have never laughed so hard while reading someone's journal entries. i'm glad he started posting again!)

ohhh! I just read Miles Chen's blog too! It's HILARIOUS! Such a true (to an extent), yet funny way to sum up relationships. :P

i enjoy reading your posts!!
except sometimes it's really hard to read because of the font colour and your very natural and nice backgrounds!!
talk to you soon :)
hehehe...i know eh? i especially like his disclaimers.
sharon! you're definitely right... as you may have noticed i keep changing layouts/backgrounds because i want a nice picture with legible text...but all too often i get tired of playing around by the time it comes to matching text colours :P maybe i'll just switch back to regular templates...or get someone with more adequate design skills/photoshop to do something for me. summer project!
ps. give brad a kiss for me, will you? mwahahahaha. 2 months 1 week!
