to the fullest!

much has come up recently about living a FULL-filling life. not in terms of being as happy as possible, or cramming as much "stuff" into your day as possible...but making every hour, every action, COUNT.

there have been times in my life where i lived by "going with the flow"... studying for whatever is coming up the soonest, spend a workday just trying to get through the piles, watch some tv to run off an afternoon, hanging out or reading if there's nothing else to do. i still have some days (or parts of days) like that, and that's cool ... i'm not aspiring to be the super-structured/no-wasted-muscle-movement type. but i HAVE become more aware of the importance of spending time wisely & effectively. the question arises: how can i live an abundant life -- how does my life become abundant -- if i keep neglecting to get on board with what God wants me to do, right here, right now?

that's why it's very unwise to keep saying, "not just now, Father --maybe i'll try it later" for want of a good excuse (oxymoron?). NOW is the time to do, to try! infuse your days with purpose & drive, whether it's in periods of rest or periods of activity...don't let either dribble away for no reason (or, bad reasons).

a lot of this thinking has culminated over this weekend, which has consisted of great chunks of time chilling & encouraging & sharing with other bros and sisters who are on this journey with me. very fulfilling. :) and best of all has been witnessing the body of Christ GROW these past few days...seeing new faces, hearing about (re)births, facing new challenges...these things didn't come about spontaneously, but were a result of God answering prayers, honouring past sacrifices which were made with a certain attitude and purpose in mind.

He was, is, will always be faithful!

think about this conundrum: It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. (Galatians 5:1)

& here's one more read for good measure. i got it from browsing through Girltalk -- very solid (in)site on "biblical womanhood and other fun stuff" :D the posts are written by a mother (wife of C.J. Mahaney) and their 3 daughters. it's a wonderful example of the power of the net used for His glory.

although it's not very logical to join the 5:00 club if you're a uni student (they are talking from the wife/mother POV), the following is still something to consider. maybe a 7:00 club. :) i just realized that my mom is an inadvertent member of the 5:00 club. she awakens around the same time for the very same reasons, although i highly doubt she's ever read Girltalk before! how inspiring. there is hope!
